The village of Carrollton sets on top of a hill with vistas that look out over many hills that are beautiful with color. The Algonquin Mill Complex, Leesville Lake Area, Atwood Lake Area, and Bluebird Farm Park all are great areas to see the fall color.
What are the local and regional roads or highways that are favorite scenic routes for Fall tourists?
All of the State Routes in the county offer scenic drives, routes 164, 39, 43, and 9 are the most scenic. Antigua and Autumn Roads are two of the most scenic of the county roads. Carroll County has no four lane highways and almost all of the roads will give you good vistas.

Are there historic or cultural sites that are popular destinations for Ohio Fall foliage travelers? What are they?
The Algonquin Mill Complex is in the valley with beautiful colors on the nearby hills. This is a restored 1830’s flouring grist mill and other historical buildings that have been moved to the grounds to save the local history. The festival is based around the mid 1800’s time period.
What are some other popular tourist attractions for autumn travelers to Carrollton. What are some of the less well known, but much loved local attractions?
The new Ashton House Museum is open for tours. Bluebird Farm Park is a beautiful place to talk a walk in the woods or to enjoy the English style gardens. Both the Atwood and Leesville Lakes provide a different look at the foliage from the water.
Are there favorite destinations for history, literature, architecture buffs, or antique collectors? What are they?
Stone Gate Manor just outside of Augusta is a replica 14th Century Gothic Manor that the owners took 7 ½ years to build. The home is well worth the trip and will be open to the public every Saturday in October.

Carroll County is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle and relax in a rural atmosphere. Carrollton is a small town with lots of charm and a great place to visit and enjoy the scenic beauty.
