The Cohocton Fall Foliage Festival celebrates the transition of fall foliage with four days of festival events. Located in Cohocton New York, this festival is held during some of New York’s prime foliage season. The festival begins the celebration early in the week mostly for local enjoying, and really gets revving on Saturday and Sunday with parades, live entertainment, fireworks, a petting zoo and more. If you’re in close proximity to this quaint country town, be sure to stop in on Thursday and Friday when the celebration begins. Thursday starts off the four-day weekend fall festival with a Prince and Princess Contest at Cohocton School, where kids ages 5 and 6 show off their talents. On Friday morning you’ll enjoy watching local events like the Fall Foliage Soccer Tournament, and the Wayland-Cohocton Football game. These fields are surrounded by beautiful fall foliage for you to enjoy while watching the games. After you’ve worked up an appetite, head over to the Presbyterian Church for a Spaghetti Dinner.
Saturday is when this New York fall foliage festival really gets going. Beginning on 7am on Saturday you’ll enjoy the smells of a homemade breakfast and bake sale coming from the Methodist Church. Next stroll out to the open fields where you’ll find an array of Arts, Crafts, Antique and Flea Markets. For lunch you can enjoy Beef-on-Wick hosted by the Cohocton Lions Club. This fall foliage festival is packed with events and features daytime events including a petting zoo, live entertainment, and a parade. At night enjoy a Chicken BBQ dinner as you watch the sky light up with colorful fireworks.
On Sunday you’ll enjoy a pancake breakfast to start your day. The fields will once again be set up with Arts, Crafts, Antique and Flea Markets for your enjoyment. On Sunday you can stroll by the Petting Zoo again or check out the Historical Exhibit. Other festival events include a tractor pull, 5k Fun Run, and a candy run for the kids. Enjoy dining on a selection of Chicken BBQ or Roast Pork Dinner while you listen to the live entertainment streaming off the fields. At the New York Fall foliage festival you’ll complete your weekend festivities with a classic Tree Sitting Contest.
