This varies from year-to-year based on weather conditions for that year..can any community anywhere on the plant accurately predict when fall foliage will be at it’s peak? Are there areas, vistas, scenic lookouts or other destinations within Bedford that are known for their uniquely beautiful autumn foliage displays?

There are four exits from the Blue Ridge Parkway that are in Bedford..and the parkway has various scenic lookouts along the Parkway. Because of Bedford’s hilly terrain, there are numerous locations throughout Bedford to see beautiful vistas. What are the local and regional roads or highways that are favorite scenic routes for Fall tourists?

Rt. 460, Rt. 43, The Blue Ridge Parkway, Routes. 221, 122 among others. Are there historic or cultural sites that are popular destinations for Fall foliage travelers? What are they?

The National D-Day Memorial. Thomas Jefferson’s Poplar Forest (his private retreat); Historic Centertown. What are some other popular tourists attractions for autumn travelers to Bedford .What are some of the less well known, but much loved local attractions?

The Bedford Museum; Bower Center for the Arts, The Peaks of Otter, Smith Mountain Lake. Are there favorite destinations for history, literature, architecture buffs, or antique collectors? What are they?

Centertown Bedford. What are some favorite destinations or activities of families traveling during the Fall travel season?
